Candi SU Vice President

On the 14th November, the Vice President was elected!

David Escobar is the new Vice President.

A number of students showed interest in the role, but unfortunately they were unable to meet the nomination deadline.

As David Escobar is the only candidate, he automatically became the new Vice President. Please join me in congratulating him in his new role as Vice President of the Students’ Union.

Black History Month!

Black History Month. A remembrance of important people and events in the history of the African diaspora. And here in England, its celebrated in the month of October.

Throughout the month, promotions are carried out of the Black History, Cultural and Heritage with disseminate information to British Society and heighten the confidence and awareness of Black people to their cultural heritage. Many events took place throughout the month, and one being held at  The City and Islington, Centre of Business, Arts and Technology (CBAT). A talent show. The purpose of the show was to get an huge audience with participants being students studying at the college, performed their talents of acting, singing, poetry and dancing, to remember such prestigious observance with joy and respect given from the audience.

The show hosted by Peaches Cadogan, founder of Reality Bytes that work with young people, by running seminars and workshops to support them. The connection students had with Peaches was strong and humorous,  as they were able to relate and understand the purpose of the ceremony.

They say that a picture speaks a thousand words, so sit back, relax, and let the pictures do the talking.

Well, most of the talking anyway.

Black History Month is now coming to an end, but the talent at CBAT has to offer remains triumphantly entertaining once again and  looking forward to next year.

When it comes to talking about Black History, we all remember the most inspirational figures that fought for equality and respect, not only in the black community – but for all ethnicities.

Well done to those who participated!
